CoreGRID/ERCIM Workshop
on Grids, Clouds and P2P Computing
CGWS 2011
Bordeaux, August 29th, 2011
CoreGRID is a European research Network of Excellence which has
developed theoretical foundations and software infrastructures for
large-scale, distributed Grid and P2P applications.
The network has extended its interests to include the emerging
field of (service based) Cloud computing which is of great importance
to the European software industry.
CoreGrid partners are investigating several service-based models from
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), through Platform as a Service (PaaS)
to Software as a Service (SaaS).
The Grid research community has contributed to the development of
the service-oriented paradigm and constructed interoperable Grid middleware.
A CoreGRID Working Group, sponsored by ERCIM, has been established to
- sustain the operation of the CoreGRID Network, and
- establish a forum to foster collaboration between research
communities involved in Grid, Cloud and P2P Computing.
The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum for members of
CoreGrid and the wider research community to discuss the latest
developments in the world of Cloud, Grid and P2P computing.
