GENERAL INFORMATION
FUN 2007 concerns, to a general extent, the use, design and
analysis of algorithms and data structures. In particular of
interest are results that provide amusing, witty but nonetheless
original and scientifically profound contributions to the areas
of approximation algorithms, biological algorithms,
combinatorial algorithms, distributed algorithms, evolutionary
algorithms, geometrical algorithms, mobile algorithms, network
algorithms, optimization algorithms, parallel algorithms,
randomized algorithms, and web algorithms, just to name a few.
CONFERENCE VENUE AND ACCOMMODATION
The conference will take place in Castello Pasquini, Castiglioncello (Tuscany, Italy).
Here you can find a list of the selected hotels, and here a map showing their location in Castiglioncello.
At the beginning of June, typical temperatures are in the mid-20's C
(upper-70's F), cooling down in the evening. More detailed weather
report and webcam views are on-line. Castiglioncello is
in the Middle European time zone, GMT+1. The electricity supply
is 220 volts, 50 Hz. No visas are required for visitors of EU
Schengen countries and some other countries. Please contact the
Italian
Embassy or Consulate in your home country for any
further information.
The most convenient airport to reach Castiglioncello is by train, either from Pisa, or from Livorno. The major airports close are "Leonardo da Vinci" intercontinental
airport, located in Fiumicino, near Rome, and "Galileo Galilei" international airport, located in Pisa; both airports are serviced by the major
world airlines. A shuttle service connects Leonardo da Vinci to
Roma Termini (central railway station). The ticket price is
about 10 euros, and non-stop shuttles leave every 60 minutes and,
during rush hours, every 30 minutes. The trip takes 40 minutes.
From Galileo Galilei there is a train that connects to Pisa Central Station. From Roma Termini, it is advisable to take a train to Livorno, and from there a local train to Castiglioncello. From Pisa, there are trains that connects to Livorno or directly to Castiglioncello.
