We implemented a fully functional prototype, privileging ease of implementation to optimization issues (fast prototyping).
Database have been implemented using MySQL (which is questionable, we know, due to centralization).
A O-O Perl APIs shields MySQL specific aspects of the database.
Monitoring sites run a daemon (in O-O Perl) that controls the execution of the monitoring services.
Monitoring tool wraps (implement sessions) are written in O-O Perl.
A GIS API has been designed that shields from peculiar aspects of
GIS aspects: APIs have been implemented for R-GMA and we are
finalizing the MDS API.
