NWS: a complex resource monitoring tool

The NWS tool is able to manage a complex subsystem, composed of activities that perform measurements as well as activities that process or coordinate measures.

The components of a NWS resource monitoring system:

• a nameserver, a centralized controller, that keeps a registry of all the components and of the monitoring activities;
• the sensors, that produce resource availability measures;
• the memories, that store resource availability measures;
• the forecasters, that process resource availability measures;
