Davide Bacciu's Home Page

I was born in Nuoro, Italy, on July 29th, 1979. I received both the B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degrees in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, in year 2003.  In December 2008, I succesfully completed a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering at IMT Lucca, under the supervision of Prof. Antonina Starita and Prof. Paulo J.G. Lisboa.

Currently, I am a post-doctoral research fellow of the Computational Intelligence & Machine Learning Group (CI&MLG) at the Computer Science Department, University of Pisa.

During my undergraduate studies (2001-2002),  I spent a semester as visiting student at the Department of Information Technology, Uppsala University, under the Erasmus/Socrates exchange program. During 2004-2005 I was with the Advanced Robotics Technology and System Laboratory (ARTS Lab), Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna Pisa, and I collaborated with Robotech srl, a spin-off company committed to educational and entertaiment robotics. 

In Fall 2007 and Fall 2008 I have been visiting researcher at the Neural Computation Research Group, Liverpool John Moores University, under the supervision of Prof. Paulo J.G. Lisboa.

I am a member of the IEEE, IEEE Computational Intelligence society, Societa' Italiana Reti Neuroniche (SIREN) and International Neural Network Society (INNS).
