I was born in 1977 in Trapani, Italy.
I took my secondary school "Diploma" in Computer Science with
full marks at Istituto Tecnico Industriale "Leonardo da Vinci" di
Trapani in 1995/96
I took my M.S. Degree (five years "laurea") cum laude in Computer
Science at Università di Pisa in 2001 (advisor Giorgio
Ghelli).
I took my "Diploma
di Licenza" at Scuola Normale
Superiore di Pisa with full marks in 2002.
I was a Ph.D. student in Computer Science for three years at University
of Pisa - Department of Computer Science (ranked first at
admission examinations).
I initially worked on and then supervised the development of a complete
implementation of TQL, a query language for semi-structured
data, participating in MSRC Project NAPI.
I worked as a visiting Marie Curie Ph.D. student the University of
Sussex supervised by Vladimiro Sassone
In 2005 I took my Ph.D. (dottorato) in Computer Science presenting the
Ph.D. thesis entitled "Spatial Logics for semi-structured resources"
with widely positive evaluations by the reviewers.
I was research fellow at University of Sussex in the MIKADO project
supervided by Matthew Hennessy
I worked on "XQuery
foundations" a german research project supervised by Thomas Schwentick
