The Department of Computer Science of the University of Pisa was the first Department of Computer Science that was established in Italy, and then the first to start a university degree and a Ph.D. school in Computer Science in Italy. Currently the Department counts 65 permanent faculty members (full, associate and assistant professors), around 30 research associates, and 55 Ph.D. students. The group that participates in the SeaClouds project (led by prof. Brogi) has a strong expertise in the development of rigorous methodologies for the discovery, adaptation, and composition of software services.
