The Neutral Atom Perspective"

Of all systems promising to realize concepts of quantum information processing neutral atoms are the only ones where elements of both a “bottom-up” and a “top-down” approach have already been realized in experiments. Excellent control of all degrees of freedom has enabled us recently to build an atom string operating as a quantum register. In this talk I will describe the prospects of constructing quantum processors atom by atom.
