The script is designed to be easely integrated in a Information Service:
For instance, it can be easely integrated in a Globus MDS, just adding an entry to a configuration file: an (untested) suggestion is in the user manual supplied with the script.
One drawback of the proposed architecture is that the tool is designed to periodically refresh the whole DIT: there is no provision for demand driven operation.
In case the Information Service were unable to make a periodic call of the script, we have provided a simple cron script that does the job. It has been successfully tested on a Linux system.
We have repeatedly tested the nwsip.pl script in various
environments, and the output has been used to populate a DIT
controlled by a SLAPD server.
