Mapping the NWS structure into the Datagrid DIT

We propose a conservative extension of the DATAGRID DIT: the intent is to centralize the control of the data stored in a NWS subsystem on a single GRIS, thus avoiding consistency problems.

Since a GRIS produces a whole subtree, not a sparse collection of subtrees, we need to extend the proposed DIT, and concentrate all the measures of a NWS subsystem under a unique subtree:

• the root should be located just above the set of sites monitored by the NWS, and contains a subtree for each monitored site;
• each site contains a subtree for each monitored peer site;
• each peer subtree contains a subtree for each measurement activity run with that peer with given parameters;
• each activity leaf contains the measure, the forecast for this measure, and the parameters used to operate the measure;

The extension is conservative since we adopt the proposed query style (as indicated in the last deliverable) to access measures coming from the NWS.

The extension may serve as a model for the integration of other complex monitoring tools.
